To get a pardon, you have to include electronic fingerprints from an accredited company or at most police stations before applying. These electronic fingerprints will be submitted to the RCMP. It can take months to process these.
You have to have the right forms filled out before you get printed and for pardon applications they have to be digital fingerprints and not the ink kind. In some cases you have to make an appointment, so call your local police station. The cost is usually around $60 and the RCMP may charge a processing fee. Each police department will have their own forms and they can be found online. Here is an electronic fingerprint example from the Vancouver Police Department. You’ll need to also bring ID.

Something to note: a pardon may be revoked by the National Parole Board. When notified of a revocation, Police will unseal the fingerprints and photos and flag the revocation in the organization’s records management system.
